Bring an Imaginary Creature to Life Using Craft and Code

Updated: Nov 19, 2023

This project evolved from a project designed to introduce students to computation and electronics as tools for personal expression. Originally, the micro:bit was going to be used in this project but with the transition to remote learning and not enough micro:bits to send home with every student, we pivoted. This version encourages students to use materials they have at home and Scratch, a free and easily accessible coding website. Students dream up an imaginary creature, create it using craft materials, and use code to make it interactive and dynamic.
